Dear Sir or Madam,

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) is currently working on an Asian-Pacific extension of the Globe Shopper City Index launched in November 2011.

For the above purpose, I’m now contacting you in the hope that you’ll be able to assist with information and data on the below questions for Shanghai.

1. What are the regular shop opening hours on a weekday? And on weekends?

2. Do shops open 7 days a week?

3. Do shops close on public holidays and, if so, how many public holidays are there per year?

4. Do shops close seasonally, e.g. do they close for 2 weeks in the summer?

5. Are there sales seasons and, if so, a) How many a year? b) How long do they last on average?

Should you not have any this information, I’d be thankful for the referral to any institution/organisation who might do so.

We leave at a short notice to Shanghai. At pudong airport we travel further to de crown plaza were we stay for the night.

The next day we must leave if its possible by train. Please, can you help us with that?

route day 1 => 400 PAN YU ROAD shanghai to SUZHOU Jiangsu

route day 2 => SUZHOU Jiangsu to Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou

route day 3 => Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou => Jiaxing

Its this possible by train?
