The real-name system was implemented for purchasing tickets for MU train and high-speed railways on June 1. However, some passengers revealed that some ticket agencies in Shanghai implemented their own measure that passengers who did not have their ID cards at hands could buy the real-name tickets by telling their ID card numbers. Railway authorities restated that passengers must take their valid identifications when buying tickets for and taking the high-speed railways or MU trains.
A passenger surnamed Wang said she went to a ticket agency and found she can buy the tickets only with the ID card numbers. After visiting some ticket agencies yesterday, the journalist found the one that Ms. Wang mentioned was indeed not strict with the IDs while others refused to sell without any identification or copies. When buying ticket at Shanghai Station, the ticket conductors will recommend the passengers who have no ID card or copies at hands to transact temporary identification at the public security counters.
Railway authority said passengers can buy tickets with their IDs or copies and can also buy tickets for other passengers with the IDs or copies of those passengers. It is not allowed to sell tickets to the passengers who have no ID or copies with them. The action of some ticket agencies that ignore the regulations will be strictly punished.
